Po trwającym niemal rok okresie tworzenia światło dzienne ujrzał nowy syntezator wirtualny niemieckiej firmy reFX powstały we współpracy ze znaną chociażby z barw dla instrumentu Vanguard czy innych syntezatorów wirtualnych firmą Vengeance Sound. NEXUS – bo taką nazwę nosi nowy instrument – oferowany jest z biblioteką o pojemności ponad 4 GB, obejmującą dotychczas niepublikowane próbki. Na ich podstawie stworzono ponad 650 presetów dających zastosować się w szerokiej gamie gatunków muzycznych. NEXUS to przedstawiciel nowej generacji syntezatorów wykorzystujących pamięć ROM, udostępniający rozbudowane, „tłuste” i nowoczesne barwy. Interfejs graficzny instrumentu jest przejrzysty i prosty w obsłudze. Centralną część zajmuje duży „wyświetlacz” wraz z ośmioma przyciskami pozwalającymi na wybór jego trybu pracy. Ponadto na panelu znajdziemy sekcje Filter Modifier i Amp Modifier, filtr o przełączanej charakterystyce (LP/BP/HP/Notch) i nachyleniu zbocza (6, 12, 24 dB/okt.) oraz efekty Delay i Reverb (firmy ArtsAcoustic). Do dyspozycji mamy też m.in. programowalny arpeggiator czy znaną już z syntezatora Vanguard funkcję Trancegate. NEXUS przeznaczony jest zarówno dla komputerów PC (Windows 2000/XP/Vista) jak i MacIntosh (Mac OSX 10.4.Cool. Syntezator pracuje jako wtyczka VST/AU i jest dostarczany na płycie DVD, zawierającej także plik PDF z instrukcją instalacji. Firma oferuje dla syntezatora nie tylko pięć zamiennych „skórek” (Black - good, Bill Killed, Vengeance, Lime i Black - evil), ale także trzy rozszerzenia barwowe – Dance Vol. 1, House Vol. 1 oraz Dance Orchestra, udostępniające nowe próbki i presety.
