Opis:
Piąta część cyklu wirtualnych horrorów, znanego w Japonii pod nazwą Biohazard. Akcja została umieszczona 10 lat po zniszczeniu Raccoon City, czyli w 2008 roku. Wraz z Chrisem Radfieldem odwiedzamy gorącą Afrykę – miejsce pochodzenia tajemniczego wirusa o nazwie T-virus.
Resident Evil 5 jest kolejną odsłoną cyklu wirtualnych horrorów, znanego w Japonii pod nazwą Biohazard. Kraj Kwitnącej Wiśni został wymieniony dlatego, iż właśnie z niego wywodzi się firma Capcom, odpowiedzialna za całą wspomnianą serię. Chociaż za „piątką” stoi Jun Takeuchi, a zatem ojciec sagi RE (jak również marki Onimusha), to nowy epizod dość wyraźnie różni się od swoich poprzedników.
Akcja piątej części gry została umieszczona 10 lat po zniszczeniu Raccoon City, czyli w 2008 roku. Wraz z Chrisem Redfieldem odwiedzamy gorącą Afrykę – miejsce pochodzenia tajemniczego wirusa o nazwie T-virus.
Dalekowschodni developerzy zrezygnowali ze statycznej kamery, prezentującej bieg wydarzeń niczym w archaicznych pecetowych produktach spod znaku Alone in the Dark. Teraz postać głównego bohatera obserwujemy z tyłu, czyli dokładnie tak samo, jak w typowych trójwymiarowych grach akcji. Pewnej zmianie uległo także środowisko, ponieważ zwiedzamy m.in. osadę pośród piasków pustyni w ciągu dnia. Rzecz jasna kluczowym elementem zabawy pozostał strach, powodowany najczęściej przez rozmaite maszkary. Standardowo protagonista dysponuje szeregiem różnych rodzajów broni, aby móc bezproblemowo radzić sobie z przeważającym liczebnie przeciwnikiem – arsenał obejmuje np. nóż, shotgun, pistolet, karabin maszynowy czy granaty.
Wyznaczenie pecetów oraz konsol Sony PlayStation 3 i Microsoft Xbox 360, jako docelowych platform sprzętowych, pozwoliło twórcom z Capcom na przygotowanie niezwykle szczegółowej oprawy graficznej, generowanej w czasie rzeczywistym przy prędkości sześćdziesięciu klatek animacji na sekundę. Spore wrażenie wywiera na widzu wygląd wirtualnego otoczenia, bowiem można dostrzec realistyczne tekstury, dynamiczną grę światła i cienia, sugestywne efekty atmosferyczne etc. Równie wysoki poziom wykonania prezentują modele postaci – u głównego bohatera obserwujemy przykładowo naturalny zarost, a momentami nawet lekko podkrążone oczy. Warto zauważyć, że omawiany tytuł jest zarazem pierwszą odsłoną serii Resident Evil, udostępnioną posiadaczom stacjonarnej konsoli ze stajni Billa Gatesa.
